Life Check

Hey.

So, 2020 has been a bust. We all thought, "This is going to be our year!" Well guess what, it’s not. The world is falling apart, and no popular figure is doing anything about it. If they won't then god damnit, I will. I am sick of being told that more and more bad things are happening.

Right now, we are in the middle of a pandemic. Covid-19 (Coronavirus) has a current the death toll of 100,000+ and President Donald J. Trump is simply ignoring it. He chose to say that "We have it all under control..." when we obviously don't. It all started when the President started to spread misinformation about the Coronavirus. He said in an interview, that it will "miraculously" go away when the warm weather comes. He also claimed "the risk is very low" for a vast majority of Americans. So far, both of those claims have been false. He claimed that "intense light" will cure you of Covid-19. He claimed that taking/ingesting cleaning products will cure you as well. After all of the backlash he received, he said he was being sarcastic. He obviously wasn’t. Currently, the President is taking an Anti-Malaria drug (Hydroxychloroquine) that can be fatal if taken without the Malaria virus. He continues to ignore health care professionals when they say it doesn’t help against Covid-19.

George Floyd was murdered for a jailed offence. He tried to pay for food so he could feed his family with a counter-fit 20$ bill. He shouldn’t have been killed for that. Riots are happening all over the Unites States, and they are killing innocent people. The President is doing nothing about this, and is more focused on the "Fact Checking" on Twitter. Our world is being torn to shreds before our eyes, and the most known figure that represents the USA, is doing nothing.

Currently, at the time of writing this (1:00 am 5/30/20) the City of Buffalo has a curfew from 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. because the citizens of Buffalo are burning city property. In Minneapolis, Rochester, Buffalo, Atlanta, LA, and other cities, the citizens were holding peaceful protests until the Police decided to tear gas people, shoot them with rubber bullets, and pepper spray them. So, in turn, the angered people started to riot. I do believe that all of this is getting out of hand. I understand they are mad, but that doesn’t give the right to destroy City and Government property. In Minneapolis, 2 people were killed already. Police are macing children, taking hijabs off of women, and an officer kicked a pregnant woman which caused her to go into miscarriage. They are shooting rubber bullets into peaceful protesters and throwing tear gas into crowds. In LA, the Police staged a cop car at a peaceful protest, and lit it on fire. Police tazed and arrested an innocent black couple after having their tires slashed, and windows broken while they were just driving on the roads. A Police Officer in LA got caught asking a fellow officer to turn off his body cam. Another officer threw a woman down the stairs so hard, it caused her to seizure. ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) was deployed in LA. The officers in cities are taking away our rights. We currently don’t have the freedom of speech because if we say something, we will be injured, or even killed. In NJ, the Police are actually protesting with the citizens against all of the brutality that’s going on. This is all happening because of the death of George Floyd.

I believe as a 15 year old teenager, I shouldn’t feel the need to speak up about this topic because people are going to tell me that I don’t understand. I am fully aware of what’s going on in the world, and I completely understand everything that’s going on. I shouldn’t have to speak up. But I feel the need to because no one else is going to say something about it, and it needs to be said. Our President should have said something to stop this before it got out of hand.

Monday 1/15/2018

Hi guys! How are you all? I am good. I missed blogging for the past year because I have been very busy.

Earlier, I did a lot of stretching. I used a big rubber band to pull my legs back into my middle split. It hurt, but I held it for a little bit, and I hope it works. I also did a lot of planning. I am planning a surprise. I cant say what it is because my dad, (aka Mike V. Benz) reads my blogs and I don't want him to know about it.

I go to dance at Draper Center For Dance Education in Rochester now. I use to go to Neglia Ballet Conservatory. Then I decided to switch to Draper so I could get different types of dance such as Modern, and Jazz. I love it at my new studio. They do Nutcracker, Cinderella, and other shows for there company members. This year they are doing Green Eggs and Ham as a side production. I am super exited to be a Mouse in their Cinderella!

For school today, I learned about Scientific Notation.I also learned about Martin Luther King JRand the "Butterfly Effect". The butterfly effect is when something changes in the past, the future as we know it will change dramatically. We also learned about Alexander the Great, and I got to chose one. I chose a robotics lesson. I learned about different types of robots. I learned that is is harder to navigate an under water robot because of the signal issues. I also learned that in Switzerland, they made a robot based off of a dragonfly, a newt, a fish, a spider, a cricket, and a lot more.

Later, William, Momma, and I will watch a movie probably. Daddy left at 10:00 a.m. this morning. He is heading to Georgia as I type this. I hope that we get to watch a movie, and/or play games with each other.

Tomorrow, I plan on doing a lot of school so I can get done early and have some free time to do what ever I want to do before we leave.

Thanks for reading! I will see you guys next time! (drops mic) Lilly out.

#takingaknee

waving flag

Previous to Flag Day, June 14, 1923 there were no federal or state regulations governing display of the United States Flag. It was on this date that the National Flag Code was adopted by the National Flag Conference which was attended by representatives of the Army and Navy which had evolved their own procedures, and some 66 other national groups. This purpose of providing guidance based on the Army and Navy procedures relating to display and associated questions about the U. S. Flag was adopted by all organizations in attendance.

I used this site for a reference:

Opinion on why the Flag Code was put in:
I personally think that the flag code was put in because I believe they wanted to protect the flag from any disrespect. For example – They wanted to keep the flag protected from what is going on now. I don’t blame the people for doing this. I blame President Donald J. Trump for starting this uprise in disrespect because he insulted the NFL which is why the flag code is being broken. Therefore, I will do #TakingAKnee.

(Plz don’t hate for that)

My Easter

Hello People!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's been awhile! Sorry about that. I was very busy over Easter Break. I had a lot of fun tho! I got a YORK bunny! I love that candy. It is my favorite type of candy! BTW, William is doing his usual story and is posting at 12:10. It will be a good one I believe.

Yesterday, on my way home, it started to rain like there was no tomorrow! It was really heavy. There is a park down the road and the tunnel down to the beach by Micky Rats, it was flooded!!! My mom just showed me the picture. It looked awesome. I wanted to go down there and swim across to the beach!

On Tuesday, I went to the orthodontist, and they took off some brackets and then put them back on! It hurt a lot and it still hurts! Usually, it doesn't hurt at this point, but it still does!!!!!!! I really want them to just take them off and I can just be over with the pain! William started his braces in 5th grade and got them off by the end of the year! I've had mine since 2nd grade! That's 4 years!!! I hate them.

GUESS WHAT? CONNER'S IS OPENING TODAY!!!!! I am so happy! They would already be open but they started doing work on the place and because of the weather, they had to postpone the opening so they can finish.

That's all I have to say for today. Thanks for reading!!!

Tifft Experience

Nature is Calling!

Today William and I went to Tifft. We saw tons of deer and we got to feed the birds! If you want to watch the birds I will link video down below. It was awesome! They landed on my hands and ate from it!!!!! It was awesome.
I almost got to touch a deer! I got so close! Did you know that Tifft was a land fill? They use to dump trash (maybe it was your great grandparents trash???)
But then a man named Tifft saved the land and made it into a nature preserve!

Here is the video...

Sorry for the noise at the end but it was awesome!!!!!

I have nothing else to say.

Thanks for reading this blog!

MY CONCERT

Today I am writing about my concert at Montante Cultural Center...

It was a fun concert to do, but I was a little nervous. Okay... REALLY nervous. I don't know why I was so nervous. It was such a small audience. There weren't that many people there! It was a really small audience.

I think that I did really good. My brother Bradley played the guitar with my singing. I think that it sounded awesome!(the link will be listed down below)

(My puppy baxter is sitting next to me... He is so cute.)

Back to my concert. It was fun to though. I sang Moon River. That song is from Breakfast at Tiffany's.

The thing is that I forgot to bow because I was so nervous. It was a really easy song. I think that I nailed it. I bet that my teacher is going to say something about the bows... I am relieved that it is over now.

THAT'S ALL FOR TODAY FOLKS!!!!!!!!!

SEE YOU NEXT TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

9/11

Editor: It's funny. Lilly hasn't really learned about this at school. How sad is that? There was no commemoration. None. No mention. This is one of the most horrendous things to happen on our soil. I don't get it. I would appreciate comments from parents of school-aged children. Please let us know if other schools touched on this subject. Thanks.

Hey, guys. Today's blog is not going to be a happy blog. I will be writing about 9/11.

9/11 was a horrible event. Two terrorists took planes and crashed into the twin towers. It was a devastating event. My mom made me watch a clip on what happened. It made want to cry it was so bad. I was crying on the inside. Thousands of people died in this event. People that were on the top floor knew that they were going to die so the just jumped off the building and died. I don't want to talk about this anymore.

                                 Signing off,

                                                Lilly Benz
